From Cannes to a Best Adventure Film Win, The Ring of Kibo Is Making Movie Magic!
Updated: 19 hours ago

There’s something pretty special about watching a movie make its way from a magical set in Maryland all the way to the international film festival circuit...and The Ring of Kibo is having a moment worth celebrating.
After playing at Cannes, the family adventure film has added another exciting accomplishment to its journey, winning Best Adventure Film at the Tarzan Film Festival. For Teen Vibes Magazine, the celebration feels a little extra special because several talented young artists from the TVM family are part of the film and some of them didn’t just act in it. They brought their music along for the adventure, too.
The Ring of Kibo follows two friends who use a magical ring to travel through time while hunting for ancient treasure. Justin and Kevin join forces with allies as they search for the mysterious Ring of Kibo, sending them on a historic quest filled with adventure, friendship and a little movie magic. It’s exactly the kind of story that feels made for families to experience together.
Behind the film are directors Vincent De Paul, Christian Filippella and Kimberly Skyrme, with the screenplay written by Bianca D’Ambrosio, Chiara D’Ambrosio and Vincent De Paul. The film stars Vincent De Paul, John O’Hurley and Evan Woodard, alongside an exciting cast of young talent. For Emmy Award-winning and Emmy-nominated Bianca and Chiara D’Ambrosio, The Ring of Kibo gave the sisters an opportunity to show just how multi-talented they really are. Bianca and Chiara not only helped write the film, but also stepped in front of the camera as two of its main characters. Moving between writing and acting is already impressive, but being able to help create the world of a movie and then actually become part of that world on screen makes their involvement especially cool.

The film also features several young talents familiar to Teen Vibes Magazine. Rocco Lupo, an accomplished young singer, plays the younger version of one of the film’s main characters, while musical talent Alex Freeman also portrays a main character at a younger age. Mia Nina appears in a supporting role, and talented singer-songwriter Michael Eddy also takes on a supporting part in the adventure.
One of our favorite things about this project is that the creativity didn’t stop with acting. With so many musically gifted young performers in the cast, The Ring of Kibo found a way to showcase their music as well. Having their original musical talents highlighted within the movie allowed these young artists to contribute to the project in more than one way and walk away with multiple credits on a single film. For young entertainers building careers across acting and music, that kind of opportunity is pretty incredible.
A major part of bringing this group of talent together was producer Lisa D’Ambrosio, who helped create an environment where young artists could collaborate, create and genuinely enjoy the filmmaking experience. An Emmy Award winner herself, Lisa is no stranger to bringing creative projects to life, and her involvement helped make The Ring of Kibo a supportive and exciting experience for the young performers involved. There is something special about a set where emerging talent isn't limited to doing just one thing, but instead is encouraged to bring everything they have to the project.
And then there were the locations....
Filmed in Maryland, The Ring of Kibo found settings that seem almost made for a story involving ancient treasure, time travel and a magical ring. The locations were absolutely magical both on and off screen, helping give the film the adventurous, almost storybook atmosphere that a movie like this deserves. When the location itself feels like another character in the story, you know you’ve found somewhere special.
Seeing The Ring of Kibo travel from those Maryland sets to Cannes and now earn the title of Best Adventure Film at the Tarzan Film Festival makes the journey even more exciting. It’s also a reminder of how much can happen when established filmmakers and producers create opportunities for a new generation of multi-talented young artists to do what they love.

For Teen Vibes Magazine, we especially love seeing young performers refusing to fit inside just one box. They’re actors. They’re singers. They’re songwriters. They’re musicians. They’re writers. And in The Ring of Kibo, they had the opportunity to bring those different sides of themselves together in one project. Special thanks goes to Nick Pelligrino who was the music supervisor on Ring Of Kibo and helped work coordinating the amazing song writers!
Congratulations to the directors, writers, producers, cast, crew and everyone involved in bringing The Ring of Kibo to life—and on its exciting Best Adventure Film win at the Tarzana Film Festival!
Now there’s just one question left: Where can you watch it? We know you’re going to want to see this family adventure for yourself, so keep your eyes on Teen Vibes Magazine.
Stay tuned for an exciting announcement revealing where you’ll be able to watch The Ring of Kibo. The adventure is only getting started!
